If you’ve been playing along on our socials, you would know that I’ve been covering the Perth Royal Show most days this past week, while still somehow managing to meet my evening food, theatre and film review commitments. I’m to the point where I’ve completely lost my voice (somewhere between the PRS Member lounge and sideshow on Friday), running a fever and I can barely string a sentence together or walk in a straight line.
Hoping to make a miraculous recovery before my birthday… TOMORROW and to catch up on editorials soon! Having said that, my birthdays are always on the low key side. There’s no week or weekend long festival of me. I generally don’t throw a huge party or any party, with the majority of my family and friends on the other side of the country.
This year, I’m planning on taking the day off for no other reason than, after working day and most nights for a fortnight and being full of the flu, I could use some time off before the next round of craziness starts. Which would be the opening of DFO in Perth on Wednesday, where we have a Perth Bargain Hunter campaign launching soon. Any excuse for me to justify more shopping and bring a few friends along for the ride. I know… crazy.
Speaking more craziness… I was in Myer over a week ago and their Christmas Department is in full Christmas carol swing. I kid you not. In September. On the plus side though, it has reminded me that our family Christmas tree gave up the ghost last year and had to be thrown.
Unfortunately, I completely missed picking up a new tree in the sales. Rather than spend a small fortune on a new tree because I’m wanting something that will match our raked twenty-foot ceiling, I’m looking for alternative options, so I can hopefully wait for this year’s sales.
