A TASTE OF CHITTERING 2021
Chittering’s annual A TASTE OF CHITTERING festival returns to the picturesque Nesci Estate Wine Farm on Saturday 20 & Sunday 21 November for a weekend of flavour and fun in the country! Just an easy 45-minute drive north-east of the Perth CBD the lively program showcases the local food, wine, beer, produce, and art of the Chittering region with market stalls, pop-up dining, cooking demonstrations, live music and family fun.
Guests can enjoy the fresh country air as they taste their way through market stalls and food trucks, and discover local fresh produce and the region’s wine and beer. Meet farmers, growers, guest chefs, and enjoy live music, licensed bar, e-bike tours and the fresh Chittering country air.
The festival is an ideal family day out with children admitted free of charge inclusive of free attractions such as farm animals, face painting, lawn games and countryside cookie decorating.
Pre-order curated picnic hampers packed with the freshest and tastiest regional produce from the Northern Valleys Locavore Store, on the festival website – ready to collect on the day.
Commencing at 10:00 am each day, the fully licensed event runs to 5:00 pm on Saturday and 3:00 pm on Sunday. Admission includes a free beer, wine or soft drink for just $18 + BF online or $20 at the gate (concession $12 + BF and $15 at the gate), with FREE ENTRY available for children (under 16) and local Chittering residents.

FOOD AND DRINK
Watch live cooking demonstrations in action from 10:00 am each day with guest chef Fritz Hansal on Saturday to 5:00 pm and Sunday to 3.00 pm.
Enjoy ready-to-eat beverages and bites from the food trucks offering bao buns, smoked meats, Korean street food, bratwurst, gozleme, Malaysian, Moroccan, Jamaican charcoal BBQ, Kombucha, French tacos, coffee, fresh juice, and homemade gelato.
The 18+ bar area will feature regional wines from Nesci Estate and local wineries, with local beers and ciders poured fresh on tap, along with award-winning boutique distillery Old Young’s.
The diverse food community of the Chittering region will be showcased in the marketplace festival hub. With a range of farmers and maker markets, guests can explore, sample and shop from variety of local producers, winemakers, and local artisan wares.
Sample and purchase region specialties such as macadamias, fudge, Scottish shortbread, bakery goods, fresh honey, pickles and preserves, olive oil, olives, spices, and the best local fruit and vegetables.
Guests will be treated to live entertainment with local main stage acts from Bindoon Entertainment Arts Theatre including Mitchell Martin Band, Ricky Green and Bronte Leddin. Libby Hammer’s spectacular Wildflower Stilt Walkers will appear from 12.00 to 2.00 pm on both days.
ELECTRIC BIKE TOURS
Sold out last year, Paul’s Eco E-Bike guided tours return in 2021, to venture through Chittering’s charming orchard and countryside scenery. With limited tickets, guests will be able effortlessly cycle 24km in two hours, visiting key attractions such as the wildflower trail including a half hour wine tasting at Stringybark Winery. Tours depart from Nesci Estate on both days from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm and 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm each day. Tickets are $65 per ticket, with pre-bookings highly recommended.
FUN FOR THE KIDS
Children can get up close with wildlife in Little Farmer’s Corner with furry friends from Old MacDonald’s Travelling Farm and The Chittering Wildlife Carers. Kids can take part in cookie decorating with Touchef children’s cooking school, and enjoy face painting, or giant lawn games.
BEER BREWING COMPETITION
Returning to the 2021 program is A SIP OF CHITTERING – a homebrewed beer competition open to all amateur brewers to create ‘a beer for Perth’s countryside’. Brews will be judged by a panel on the main stage on Saturday 20 November based on aroma, appearance, flavour and overall impression.
A TASTE OF CHITTERING offers a taste of the country right on Perth’s doorstep. This event is proudly supported by the Shire of Chittering and Tourism WA.
