Aussie Giveaway LinkUp May

Gather, Share, Give…

and WIN with Jura & the Biggest Morning Tea

Cancer Council, Agent Mystery Case, Biggest morning tea,

MAY… I get a round of applause even though our Aussie Giveaway Linkup for May is hitting the blog late. I’m just back from a whirlwind trip to Sydney with Kids Business for a blogger brunch supporting the Council Council and Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea. A trip that saw me depart Perth at 2am Friday morning, arriving in Sydney at 8 am with no sleep and just enough time to slap myself awake freshen up before heading straight to the event.

Thankfully Jura (the coffee machine specialists) were on hand for a pre event catch up, where I may have snapped my fingers, demanding a double shot coffee on arrival to help kick start me into gear before the masses of bloggers and other brands arrived for the official brunch.  Which makes me sound like a bit of a blogging diva but the truth is, I really needed that coffee the Jura machines are super easy to use that once you’ve programmed in how you like your perfect coffee, it’s just a matter of placing your cup or mug in the firing line and clicking a button. A touch of a button for speciality coffee. Too easy and hardly asking too much.

The newly launched Jura Z6 (which I’m hoping to share with you soon) even has a function where you can order your speciality coffee via your smart phone or tablet from the comfort of your own bed. For someone like me, that needs a coffee in the morning to be able to function before you can make a half decent coffee, it’s a dream come true.

WIN WIN with Jura

Jura, WIN, giveaway

This year, Jura are rather generously getting behind Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea. It’s a WIN WIN for morning tea coffee lovers, as they have one of their Ena Micro 90 one touch coffee machines valued at $1,399 up for grabs for one lucky Biggest Morning Tea host. You just need to raise $500 or more and bank the money before July 1st to be in the running (more details here).

I’m almost tempted to put my hand up to host an event myself this year. The official date for Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea is May 26 but you can hold an event at any stage during May and June.

Hosting a fundraising event can be a lot of hard work but it can also be a lot of fun. The Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea is such a fabulous initiative. A great way to gather, share and give… raising funds for the Cancer Council, who do such an amazing job, not just in terms of raising funds for research but also in supporting cancer sufferers, as well as a host of other initiatives including information, prevention and awareness for starters.

I’ll be joining in this year but more from a donation perspective rather than an official host, as I already have a little too much on my morning tea plate. I will also be popping down to the newly launched state-of-the-art Jura service centre here in Perth to create a recipe or three for the Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea and coming to the party in a number of other ways.

More on Jura, Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea and my trip to Sydney coming to the blog soon. Including most of what I managed to get up to, over three days with Vicki aka The Fashionable Mum. It’s safe to say, the whirlwind trip is one of the main reasons our monthly Aussie Giveaway Linkup is hitting the blog late.

The fact that the only decent coffee I had in Sydney was the Jura one that very first morning was the other main reason.

  1. Love the idea of hosting a morning tea. I’ve never been involved in one before, but I’m liking what I’m hearing. Plus a great cause. It’s nice to take a moment to sit back and share a cuppa and conversation 🙂

  2. I used to live in Perth and those red-eye flights East can be pretty brutal! I think it would have taken me at least a couple of those coffees to make it through the morning!!

    • We still feel like newbies here in Perth after 7 years. The trip home was even more brutal and I ended up needing a trip to ER last night to rule out that the swelling in one leg wasn’t a blood clot. Feeling old and tired this morning and could do with a triple shot of Jura right now.

    • I need to investigate the decaf options. Jonte & Jessica Bratich are hosting a biggest morning tea in Balcatta. Will keep you posted on any others I hear about closer to you.

  3. Mmmm…. coffee. I’m currently trying to reduce my intake from 6 to 2 per day… still getting huge headaches! Oh well. And yes, I’ll be attending a morning tea at work.

  4. I’m hoping to host a morning tea myself (in honour of my Dad) but I just have to find a free spot to do it – the rest of this term is looking crazy for me right now!
