T to da’ P to da’ F to da’ F to da’ 2015 (baby)
TPFF into the room (I know you’ll love it)
TPFF all over you (I’ll let ya have it)
Wait a minute lemme take you there (ah)…
Telstra Perth Fashion Festival 2015 (TPFF2015) kicked off this week in true to form Perth style and I’m super excited to once again be a small part of the media (aka blogging) lineup this year.
A year that will ultimately see me move away from the fashion and style side of things, moving more behind the scenes than ever before and knee deep into my new business venture (BIG announcement coming soon). But that doesn’t mean I can’t have one last TPFF hoorah together with a lot of stylish fun, promoting some of my favourite Western Australian designers and creatives in the meantime. Does it?
This is my fifth year involved with the Festival. Although only my third for the blog, having represented clients the first two years and then Woman.com.au before feeling comfortable enough to throw the blog into the fashionable mix.
Not being a dedicated style or fashion blog and certainly not looking or feeling the fashion blogger part, doesn’t mean I don’t support WA fashion and creatives in a big way, both online and off. AMC being more of a no-niche review and lifestyle blog, does mean that I’m always grateful for a look in at TPFF.
This year, with so much on behind the scenes together with my involvement in a mystery designer event coming up in October, I’ve only put my hand up to cover the one show officially. Of course, if time permits I will be slotting in as many shows as possible, especially the FREE day time ones but my main focus will be on WA Designer Runway 2 and showcasing some of the amazing creatives involved in the lineup for that show.
Now before I share with you my worth casing favourites for TPFF2015, I thought I would take a little look back at some of the previous year’s highlights. In particular our In the Bag feature and giveaway from last year that showcased some of our favourite Restyle bloggers over the last few years. We shared a little glimpse into their designer bags and had everyone guessing as to who owned which bag. It was a whole lot of fun and a great way to get to know some of Perth’s up and coming fashion and style bloggers a little better.

WORTH CASING TPFF2015
While each and every show is definitely worth casing this year, I’ve hand selected my top five favourite creatives to case both on and off the runway:
Front and Centre – Rayne Embley
The super stylish Rayne Embley is certainly going to be one to watch this year, if you are playing along from home. Not just for her fabulous outfit choices each event but this year Rayne is the social media ambassador for The West Australian newspaper. You can case Rayne in TPFF2015 action via her hot new website or over on Facebook and Instagram.

Back End Business – Style Voyeur
Each year Marcia from Style Voyeur brings us fantastic backstage coverage of each runway show and this year is no different. You should definitely head over and case her first TPFF2015 post for opening night. You can also catch more than a glimpse of Marcia in behind the scenes chaos action from last year in Behind the Runway which showcased Wednesday (16/9) on Channel 9.

WA Designer Runway 2
In terms of the ticketed runway events, there are some more than impressive designers showcasing this year, it’s hard to know where to start. Opening and closing night as well as the Myer Luncheon, are always on the top of my must case list each year but having over committed myself and appreciating time wise I could only commit to the one show this year, my first choice was always going to be WA Designer Runway 2.
Featuring 12 of WA’s talented and emerging fashion designers, I can’t wait to feature and share some of my favourites from the WA Designer Runway 2 lineup in the coming weeks.
- Alexandra King
- Bhalo
- Blushed by Teagan Jacobs
- Curious Birdy
- House of Skye
- Jessica Bratich
- Jonté Designs
- Katherine Dunmill
- Megan Salmon
- Morgan Marks
- PET. the Label
- Wild Horses

Restyle – Runway 1 & 2
I’ve always been a huge supporter of TPFF Restyle each year. It’s a great way to showcase opportunity shop or thrifted fashion and support our local charities at the same time. This year, Restyle looks and feels a little different. The class of 2015 Restyle has moved away from the usual seven bloggers, each representing a different charity and we have an ecclectic lineup of Perth creatives flying the Restyle flag.
This year designers, stylists and Perth creatives joined some of our favourite Restyle bloggers from previous years, like Jenelle Witty from Inspiring Wit who is sadly missing all the TPFF2015 action while she Eat, Pray, Loves hop, skips and jumps across Europe. Throughout August the Restyle Class of 2015 shared interesting ways to incorporate thrifted or op shop fashion into your wardrobes following daily prompts.
The change in lineup and approach this year, has certainly freshened things up and it will be interesting to see what evolves from the two FREE Restyle Runway shows this year at Fashion Central (Forrest Chase).

Restyle Runway 1 – Friday, September 18, 2015 – 10:00
Restyle Runway 2 – Sunday, September 20, 2015 – 11:00
SIGNature Dish
Another fabulous FREE runway show at Fashion Central (Forrest Chase) in collaboration with the Centre for Fashion at Polytechnic West, local organisations and councils, is SIGNature.
An innovative fashion project, that involves upcycling textile waste to create incredible wearable art. Collabration, innovation and design at its best and my SIGNature dish aka selection for the pick of the free runway shows this year for TPFF2015.

SIGNature – Friday, September 18, 2015 – 16:00
Are you heading to any of the Telstra Perth Fashion Festival shows this year? If you could only pick one show to case, which one would you choose?
Ooooooh. That looks so exciting!
Love PFF each year. There is always so much on. I actually prefer the chaos backstage to the front row shenanigans.
See you at WA Designers 2! Last nights WA show was brilliant! Can’t wait for Sat x
Yah. The images coming though now from last night, look amazing. Really looking forward to Saturday night. I’ll be wearing my invisibility cloak and balaclava but I will make sure to come and find you. 🙂
It all looks really exciting Raych. Can’t wait to see more images and news from your perspective 🙂
Thanks Jo. I’m more of a behind the scenes kind of gal with these things. Just love the chaos that goes on behind the scenes. I’m in the process of organising our next coffee catch up, so we can organise some collaborations and share a little of what is coming up. Hoping you will be free to join us.
Love to 🙂
Can’t wait for Saturday night, sounds like there’ll be a few of us! Restyle was a blast last year, I hope all the Restylers have had as much fun this year.
It seems a bit quiet on the Restyle front this year. I’m going to try and make the Sunday show but with so much on, I really need to schedule some down time. Looking forward to Saturday night. It should be a whole lot of fun.
What a cool event to get to check out!! Jelly! Have fun 🙂
Thanks. Wish you were here as my plus 1.
You sure do get around – I don’t know how you fit it all in! It looks like a great event – have fun! PS I can’t wait to hear your announcement!
Not as much as I use to. Really getting to know my limits and pacing myself these days.
Enjoy – looks like so much to take in and appreciate. Remember to take it slow but I hope you have a blast!
Only doing the one show, which was last night. Even then… right on show start, I had an emergency at home text from my girls. With Mark away there’s only so much I can do and still function on all fronts. Thankfully the emergency at home sorted itself, after a few texts.
Oh, wow! Truly glamorous, Raych! Rayne Embley is one hot chica!
Love, love, love Rayne. One gorgeously gracious woman, who is really going places.
