This year we took the unusual (for me) approach of accepting a handful of gifted prizes for our end of year giveaway, so that we could concentrate on supporting our local charity Cases4Kids.

Our four mystery judges thoroughly enjoyed reading each and every entry. They had a hard time selecting winners but I’m pleased to report the majority of winners have now been selected and emailed.

We are still waiting to hear back from four of our winners, so if you entered any of our competitions, make sure you check your emails and spam folders and email through your contact details, so we can get your prizes out to you.

      • My sister could use a boost. She’s had a rough year with a divorce, two interstate moves with kids in tow, her youngest doesn’t sleep well and she’s spent most of the year functioning on a couple of hours sleep per night and lots of caffeine. She lives in Darwin, away from the rest of the family in Adelaide and I think Christmas will be a bit lonely for her this year when the kids are with their Dad. So I’ll throw her into the mix!

  1. Yay!! Super excited to see my name twice!!! Can’t wait to get stuck in to Nikki’s book!!
I would love to nominate Kirsty from My Home Truths for a Random Act of Kindness as I think she could use some Christmas cheer at the moment!

  2. I’d like to nominate a mum in Perth called Renae. She is a single mother who has two beautiful daughters. Her youngest daughter has special needs.

Raising any child is expensive but raising children with special needs includes unexpected costs which add up. I know from first hand experience but I’m fortunate to have a husband who has a full time job, Renae has been supporting her daughters on her own, without a job, for most of this year.

I really admire Renae and I’d like to nominate her and her daughters for a Random Act of Kindness.

      • In that case, I would love to nominate a lady in my July 2012 babies group. She has a 2 year old and 3.5 month old and has just been diagnosed with breast cancer. She is having a mastectomy today and undergoing rigorous chemotherapy treatment. My heart breaks for her, as her oldest and my son are the same age and she has been such a vibrant part of our group. To find this out just before Christmas must have been hard, and she has had to stop breastfeeding her son. She had planned on having children early and then getting a mastectomy and her ovaries removed at 30 after always being self-aware due to the gene running in her family, but she has been diagnosed at age 27. Her blog is: https://breastcaat27.wordpress.com/
