WIN | IN THE BAG for Telstra Perth Fashion Festival 2014 | Mystery Case GIVEAWAY

Having covered, in one way or another, Perth Fashion Festival (PFF) for four years now, one of my favourite parts of the festival are the daily FREE Fashion Central shows. Especially the shows that feature affordable and wearable, for me, fashion. I’m also a huge fan of the Restyle Runway having ‘cased’ the Restyle bloggers throughout August, with their daily outfit posts for their nominated opportunity shops.

Each and every year, the Restyle bloggers do an amazing job not just with their daily outfit posts and promoting their charity but also promoting the festival in a big way.  As I mentioned on the blog earlier this week (see here), the one thing you notice each and every year at PFF, is the dedication and hard work from all the gorgeous bloggers involved in Restyle. They all make rather worthy ambassadors for PFF and they all deserve to be rewarded and celebrated in a big way for their marathon efforts.

Today we celebrate and showcase just a handful of our favourite Restyle bloggers from the last three years, as they share a glimpse of their Perth Fashion Festival highlights.

The shows I am most looking forward to:

Each year the ‘Future Runway’ is exciting. As a former WAAPA design student I’ve watched the costume entries for the past six years. The students are forced to evaluate textiles, silhouettes etc and they need not be ‘ready to wear’ items so I like that they can get really creative. I always mean to go out to WAAPA and shoot the entries after the festival, perhaps I will make sure I do that this year. I am also looking forward to Morrison. I love their soft lines and excellent textiles- particularly the leather dresses. Morrison fits into my comfortable yet chic ethos.

Highlights of previous festivals:

Honestly for me it was all about meeting other bloggers and getting to know them. I think it was all so new to me a couple of years back and everyone was great. I’ve made great friends. I also love to Restyle runway each year, it is fun and has a great message. Of course Alistar Yiap’s ‘band of gold’ last year was spectacular.

I’m looking forward to attending shows in the new surroundings of Perth Concert Hall and in particular supporting Katherine Dunmill and Tindale at WA Designer Installation. I also can’t wait to see some of the Fashion Central shows especially Restyle since I participated two years ago and I love seeing how the bloggers have styled their own op shop looks.

This year, I am looking forward to Restyle on the Runway, Hello Parry and WA Designer Installations and my highlights from previous years include last year’s Student Runway and WA Designer Collections from 2012’s festival.

This is my first year attending PFF and I’m nervously excited about walking the Restyle Runway. I played along on social media last year and the Restyle bloggers made it all look so easy. My must see shows this year are Camilla on Saturday evening and the Target Runway show (who doesn’t love a bit of Targé?). A big highlight will be seeing all the other street style at the shows.

To be honest, I find the free events a lot more community orientated, vibrant and fun, so I can’t wait to get into the localised talent such as Hello Parry and of course reminisce with Restyle, but also love a good Target runway – because my blog is all about commercialised fashion and how to incorporate a designer piece with a $20 top!!

I am taking part in the Myer Fashion Masterclass which should be hands on and fun, I am also part of the Enex100 shopping party via social media (to showcase pieces and purchase my next outfit for PFF) and can’t wait for Galvanised, WA Designer Installation and Future Runway!

The Future Runway show is always a favourite! I love seeing the new wave of talented WA designers, and these collections always seem to be a lot more creative and innovative than the rest of the shows as they don’t have the same restrictions and constraints that a commercial label does.

My highlight from last year was probably Dyspnea at the Future Runway show, they set the bar very high in terms of creating such an interesting and wearable collection and setting some serious trends! And look at them today they’re showcasing at Paris Fashion Week!

This is my first year at Perth Fashion Festival. I am so excited to not only be attending events but also to be part of the festival itself.  This year the Restyle Runway is definitely the event I am most excited about and show casing my op shop finds from Save The Children on the runway. Restyle has been an amazing experience and I still cannot believe this is all happening.

I am really looking forward to the Camilla show ‘In The Name Of Tribe’ as I adore her vibrant colourful textured designs and silhouettes. I am very excited about the Hello Parry show and looking forward to seeing what will be arriving for Spring Summer 14/15. The festival is a fantastic event that creates a hub of excitement throughout the city and I feel very privileged to be a part of it.

Top of my list of PFF highlights to date would be dressing for the Ruth Tarvydas show years ago, the student runway events and walking in the Restyle Runway last year. This year I’m looking forward to casing Street Style and the student designer shows.

  1. Love Sass and Spice she is so gorgeous and how does she do it with two babies on her hips. So much going on I maybe need to come out of my cave and check some fashion out as it is on my doorstep also. Some fab Perth fashionista’s in this list.

    • I’ve only met the gorgeous Sass and Spice very briefly at a very noisy event but I’ve been casing her for a little while now. I’ve been in hibernation mode myself so it’s nice to be out and about again for a rather fashionable event.

If you are thinking about heading out, the restyle show is on again on Sunday. Make sure you arrive early to secure a seat.

    • Our GIVEAWAY is now open, make sure you enter. The designer bag we have up for grabs would make a perfect addition to your wardrobe! We also have an IN THE BAG monthly feature coming up on Mystery Case. Would love to feature you Rachel.
