I recently caught up with the gorgeous Amy Zempilas from Absolute Amy over high tea as part of our high tea guest blogger reviews.
Today, we catch up with Amy for Five in Five.

How would you describe yourself and your blog?
When I first started my blog, I couldn’t decide on just one topic – so I decided to write about everything I love in my life from fashion, motherhood, events, food, beauty products, music, home decor, recipes and much more!
Absolute Amy is a reflection of what’s going on in my life, whether I have a busy week of events like the recent Perth Fashion Festival or whether I’m having a quiet week spending time with my family, cooking and finding new fun activities for my daughter. I would like to think my blog is a reflection of most women’s lives; it’s not just one aspect which defines us, but many aspects. We’re mums, wives, daughters, sisters, friends, music and book lovers, fashionistas, interior decorators, cooks – and so much more.
I would describe myself as a wife and mum above all else, and from there (I hope) a good and fun loving friend, sister, daughter and granddaughter who loves coffee, cupcakes and candles. ( To name just a few things!)
You always look picture perfect, even when caught out in the rain at the Zara Bryson PFF Fashionably Loud show. Do you have a village of people helping you get ready?
I wish! Thank you so much, but often it’s a massive juggling act to get ready before heading out. I try to plan ahead as much as possible, but sometimes it’s a matter of pulling my hair into a pony or bun, applying make up while entertaining my toddler and making sure she has everything she needs – dinner, bath time, story time and cuddle – before heading out the door.
I’m always on the lookout for fab new beauty products and make up tips, and share them on my blog when I find them. It also helps having a very supportive husband and two sets of very willing grandparents, that’s my team!
If we were to venture into your wardrobe what would it say about you and has your wardrobe changed much since having your daughter?
My wardrobe has changed a lot in the last 19- 20 months. After my daughter was born, it involved lots of stretchy, loose fabrics. Recently I have been more adventurous and have embraced colour and clothes that I normally wouldn’t be confident enough to wear.
I’ve been really inspired by Myer fashion stylist and blogger Andrea Tonkin, she always delights me with her colourful and fun outfits and she makes me want to be more colourful and fun too! I also love WA label Zhivago, the girls really know how to design clothes to make a woman’s body look as amazing as possible.
What’s your idea of the perfect date night and with your husband’s busy and unusual schedule when do find the time?
My perfect date night would be dinner at Nobu with my hubby, followed by cocktails. In saying that, I’m equally happy having a picnic in the park with our beautiful little girl. During the football season, we don’t have much time for date nights, but we do have lots of family coffee dates instead.
If you had a theme song what would it be?
What a great question! I really love music and different songs remind me of various events and stages of my life.
I couldn’t possibly have just one song, it would be a combination of:
Big Jet Plane – Angus and Julia Stone
Sweet Child of Mine – Guns and Roses

Amy is currently running a five day recipe challenge on her blog and I have a very special recipe book for someone that heads over and subscribes to Absolute Amy and leaves a little comment on one of Amy’s recipe posts by finishing the following sentence…. “It’s no mystery my favourite recipe is ……”
