Thanks to Studiocanal Australia we are giving our readers the chance to WIN 1 of 5 double passes to the advance screening of KING OF THIEVES, the incredible true story of the Hatton Garden diamond heist, in Cinemas from February 28!

After hitting the movies hard last year and pulling off a personal best for the number of films watched in one year (I believe it was 79 if you don’t count my brief foray into the Netflix fold), I had all of January off. Last night I returned to the fold for the Perth preview of Liam Neeson’s latest offering Cold Pursuit. Review coming soon but can I just say, it was a real surprise package and up there along the lines of Widows that made my list of favourite films last year and interestingly enough also starred Liam Neeson, even though he was killed off in the first five minutes… oops.. I’m not usually in the business of spoilers.

Prior to the film last night, the trailer for King of Thieves had me in stitches and super keen for the advanced screening later this month. While I don’t have any intention of making another PB in the film department this year (time isn’t on my side), I’m certainly looking forward to bringing more to the table here for our growing FLICK FIX community. Starting with our first giveaway for the year…

A famous thief in his younger years, widower Brian Reader (Michael Caine), 77 years of age, pulls together a band of misfit criminals to plot an unprecedented burglary at the Hatton Garden Safe Deposit. The thieves, all in their 60s and 70s except for one, employ their old-school thieving skills to plan the heist over the Easter holiday weekend.

Posing as servicemen, they enter the deposit, neutralise the alarms, and proceed to drill a hole into the wall of the safe. Two days later, they manage to escape with allegedly over £200 million worth of stolen jewels and money.

When police are called to the scene and the investigation starts, the cracks between the misfit gang members begin to show as they row over how to share the goods and become increasingly distrustful of each other. Meanwhile, the crime has become public knowledge, and a frenzy of speculations begin. As details about the crime come to light, both the British public and the media are captivated, and the investigation is followed with bated breath around the world until the criminals are eventually captured.

To be in the running for 1 of 5 double passes to the Perth advanced screening of King of Thieves at Windsor Cinema on February 21 (6.30 pm), enter your details below.
