MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU THIS MOTHER’S DAY…
Someone please hit the pause button. We seriously cannot be in the month of May already. How did that happen? I’ve been wanting to hit the pause button a lot lately.
Our eldest daughter turned 20 on April 29. I’m in a state of disbelief that we now have a 20 year old. Feeling old, I went looking and reminiscing through the baby photos.
What a trip down memory lane that was. On one hand it feels like only yesterday and on the other when I look at my daughter, almost a fully qualified nurse, it feels like two lifetimes ago. The life that was very much me before having children and the life after somehow pulling off 3 under 3 with our youngest daughter arriving 10 weeks early. My girls are now 17, 18 and just turned 20!
Even with the chaos that comes with raising 3 girls under 3, I’ve had a pretty easy time of parenthood. No real tantrums (on the girls part – can’t say the same for myself) or fighting, just lots of fun, games and hard work. To be expected there have been a couple of bumping similar heads with my eldest as she leads the way to independence but in the general scheme of things, nothing to write home about. More to do with me trying to find my continuingly changing feet in this motherhood gig, with our 3 really low maintenance girls.
Speaking of motherhood, with Mother’s Day fast approaching I’m looking forward to bringing you a mum friendly last minute gift guide and giveaway to AMC this week. I’ve left it to the last minute because from experience, I know that’s how most dads tend to shop. I’ve also learnt over the years not to schedule mystery shops Mother’s day weekend and to basically avoid the stress of the shops altogether.

How insane was our playroom pictured above with my 3 playing dress-ups and ballet school? I should add this was just one small corner of a very large filled to the brim room. I feel I should also add that I purchased just one toy each for our girls at Christmas, the rest were gifts from relatives, mainly Nanny Gorgeous and Grandma Lorraine. With 3 under 3 and so many toys and extra children dropping in, I basically organised our oversized rumpus room like a playgroup. It worked well. My favourite part of the room was the quiet corner aka reading nook and the dress-up box.
