GIFTS & GIVEAWAYS
Our virtual end of year party. Where we celebrate the past year with a series of gifts and giveaways for our readers. Our way of saying thank you for your love and support over the past 6ish years, as well as a further opportunity to showcase some of our favourite people, products and places in the process.
As I’m all about keeping things minimal this Christmas, especially gifts, having just moved for the 24th time, into our hopefully forever home. I’m wanting to keep the clutter and
dust collectors keepsakes to a minimum as we finally unpack our mystery case for good!
Our three girls are now 16, 18 & 19 and while some of the magic of Christmas has been lost along the way, experience gifts are a perfect way to bring a little of that magic back, as well as stay on track with our minimal approach to gifting this year. Concerts and tribute shows are at the top of my experience gift wish list.
Speaking of tribute shows, we have a little treat for our Melbourne readers…
THE GREATEST LOVE OF ALL – THE WHITNEY HOUSTON SHOW
Starring Belinda Davids – Winner of BBC ONE’s ‘Even Better than the Real Thing’
Showtime Australia will present the critically acclaimed live production, The Greatest Love of All – The Whitney Houston Show across Australia in January and February. A beautifully crafted tribute, the show will honour the talent, music and memory of one of the world’s most revered singers.
In preparation for such an anticipated show, Showtime Australia conducted over 15,000 auditions across 12 countries before selecting accomplished South African vocalist Belinda Davids who delivers the voice, charm, nuances, and even the gestures of Houston.
An undeniable talent, Davids recently won this year’s BBC ONE’s Even Better than the Real Thing which showcases the best musical tribute acts in the UK.
Accompanying the breathtaking vocals of Davids on stage will be a six-piece live band, and dancers, with an array of stunning replica costumes and full-scale lighting and effects.
The spectacular two-hour show will take audiences on a heartfelt musical journey through the greatest hits of Houston’s 30-year career including I Will Always Love You, I Wanna Dance With Somebody, How Will I Know, One Moment In Time, I Have Nothing, Didn’t We Almost Have It All, Greatest Love of All, Every Woman and many more.
Davids said, “Houston is my personal idol and the inspiration for my career when I began singing at the age of 14. I want people to remember Whitney for when she was amazing, for when she was the powerhouse, for when she was the voice. I want people to remember Whitney when she was at the top of her game!”
Launched in 2013, the show has toured extensively across the globe including shows in US, Canada, Europe, South Africa, Asia and New Zealand.

Thanks to Showtime Australia we have 5 double passes to The Greatest Love of All – The Whitney Houston Show up for grabs for our Melbourne readers for the show on January 11.
Funnily enough, Whitney Houston was the first live concert I attended at the Sydney Entertainment Centre in my teens. I’ve gone on to see many shows and concerts since then but nothing really compares to my first. I’ve been eagerly watching the trailer for this tribute show, amazed at the likeness in both poise and pitch of vocalist Belinda Davids and I can’t wait to see the show when it opens in Perth.
