All I want for Christmas is… a blogging GIVEAWAY

I must confess, I use to love this time of year but Christmas seems to rear its ugly commercial head earlier and earlier each year.

It was early September when the Christmas decorations started to appear in the department stores this year. It means by the time December 1st rolls around, I’m generally singing… “All I want for Christmas is… for it to be over”.  I’m much the same with Easter with the hot cross buns hitting the shelves on Boxing Day. As much as I love those hot cross buns… it’s just too soon.

This year, I’m trying to change my tune and what better way to get back into the spirit of Christmas than with a giveaway or three. Starting now…

I want a camera case – my camera was eaten by the surf, and then because I’m even stevens, I won a replacement, but it has no case…so that’s it….and world peace but I know Santa can’t swing that one!

    • How lucky were you to win a replacement. I fell and smashed my DSLR, it hasn’t been the same since. Wish I could win a replacement.

  • On my list is time. I have a new novel idea and I just want to sit down and write it. That’s honestly all I want.

    • How exciting for you. I hope you find the time to write. Any chance you can take off for a weekend and book into a hotel and give yourself the time to write?

  • Lisa Bright

My youngest is 13 months. I haven’t slept a full night since he was born. In fact, I don’t think I’ve slept longer than 3 hours at a time since he was born. So I’d love some sleep. And a bath BY MYSELF. And while I’m dreaming, Johnny Depp may come over and wash me too. Then for something realistic, I’d like something shiny to replace the ring I lost. My finger feels naked.

    • My youngest is 14. I wish I could blame my lack of sleep on her. I’d really love some sleep too and a visit from Johnny Depp.

Now… tell me more about the ring you lost.

      • Lisa Bright

Oh it was a pretty thing. I bought it at an antique fair and I got a good deal because there weren’t many fingers who could fit into it apparently. They tell me it was a gypsy wedding ring, it was gold with a sapphire and some little diamond chips that all sat flat into the band so it didn’t catch on anything. I don’t know how it disappeared but I suspect the toddler had something to do with it while I was in the shower 🙂

        • Oh no. Hopefully it will reappear. I lost one of my diamond earrings. I’d almost given up on it but months later it turned up in the laundry. Of course then I had to put my thinking cap on and try and remember where I’d put the other one.

  • Every time I hear “All I Want for Christmas…” I sing the tune. Can’t help it. All I want for Christmas is glorious sleep. Not sure I will get a sleep in on Christmas morning, but I’m hoping a big lunch and festivities in the morning will make all three of my girls sleep in the arvo so I can enjoy my much needed present.

    • You poor thing. I can totally relate. I honestly think all us mums should put in for long service leave. Just for one night. Treat ourselves to a motel and catch up on sleep and some much needed just me time.

  • I really want another baby, can you make that happen? Hoping it at least happens some time next year. {also visiting from #teamIBOT}.

    • I really wish I could make your dream come true. I hope it does come true for you next year.

  • Have a tanfastical week & thanks for linking up 🙂

    • Thanks Steve. You have a great week too. Are you having any time off over Christmas?

  • Caroline Fernandez

I actually have everything I want this year – family, health, and happiness. But I do hope you get something from your wish list!!!

    • I’m much the same, apart from the health side of things. My wish list really is just that.

  • Ooh sounds exciting!!!!!

    • I’m so late to the party. Had I not been so preoccupied with my daughter it would have been a lot more exciting.

  • Kirsty @ My Home Truths

For Christmas, I’d like an old style retro cruiser bike, one that has a cute basket on the front, a single gear & back pedal brakes. It would take me back to my youth and remind me of the bike i had as a kid (a red Repco cruiser bike, because red obviously goes faster!!!)

    • I had that red bike. Memories. It was the same bike that gets a mention in my I must confess… ‘what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger’ blog post.

  • I would love a good camera so I can practise my photography skills and capture beautiful memories of my little ones.

    • I’d love a camera too. I fell and smashed my DSLR and it hasn’t been the same since.

  • My husband and I have had a tough medical year, a quad bypas and then 2 knee surgeries, which he is still recovering from, so I would love to take a vacation with someone that could help us , Im pooped. Australia would be nice………..?

    • So sorry to hear you have had a rough year health wise. Hopefully that is all behind you now and 2016 will be better. Australia would be a great place for a holiday.

  • I agree, Christmas has gotten way too commercial and the stores promote the Holidays way too soon. Thanks for hosting. Have a great week!

    • Thanks Cascia. You have a great week too. Are you taking any time off over Christmas?

  • All I want for Christmas is to have another year’s worth of blogging inspo and things and events to write about but wouldn’t say no to a new camera or an iPhone upgrade to facilitate better images as a start!

    • I have so much blogging inspiration but no time to actually get it out of my head and into action. Happy to throw some ideas and perhaps organise a collaboration in the new year.

  • pioneerpat1

Peace on Earth and Goodwill towards men and women and an Amazon gift card. I am simple.

    • Keeping things simple, sounds pretty good to me.

  • Alicia-OneMotherHen

I just want a well family and a xlotto win wouldn’t go astray!

    • YES! I wouldn’t mind winning lotto either. Not sure of my chances considering I never remember to purchase a ticket.

  • Tien Dong

    There’ll be no oversleeping,

    With little Lord’s a-leaping,

    Out of bed, and creaping,

    To the tree, and peeping,

    To see if Santa’s been

All I want for Christmas is for
me and my son to be happy.

Having had a car accident and both my son and I having a rough time afterwards.

    We don’t want anything besides

  • Lucy @ Bake Play Smile

You’re so right! Christmas does seem to start earlier and earlier each year. Hahaha on my Christmas wish list is one of those robo-vac things. I’m a massive clean freak and with our first bub due early next year, I know I’ll be having many crumbs-on-floor induced meltdowns… either that or I’ll be too busy worrying about more important things to notice!! Happy Christmas! xx

    • I’m so excited for you Lucy. Wishing you a very merry Christmas and hoping everything goes well with your little ones arrival.

  • Yep, I’m with you Raychael – Christmas is way too commercial (I opened the the blog post I wrote yesterday with the same sentiment). I don’t really have a Christmas list, but I would love a new camera. Other than that, I’d just like my family to have an enjoyable, peaceful and safe festive season … hope that’s not too much to ask 🙂

    • I’m just about to host my daughter’s 16th birthday party and then I will be over to read your post.

  • All I want for Christmas is a weekend away, preferably by the sea. Is that too much to ask? A relaxing couple of days that may include a massage. But I’m more likely to score a book and maybe a new dress and frankly, I’m happy with that!

    • I wouldn’t mind a weekend away myself. Actually, if I’m really being honest… I would love someone to come in and take over for Christmas so I don’t have to lift a finger or purchase one single present. Is that bad?

  • Natalie @ Our Parallel Connect

All I want for Christmas Raych is 2 days of me time. Time to read, time to write, time to think, time to nourish my emotions.

    • Two days of me time sounds pretty perfect to me… can I join you?

      • Natalie @ Our Parallel Connect

        Let’s do it…

  • Christmas today is so over stuffed,
the true meaning of Christmas so easily muffed.

All I want is family near,
Content with happiness – no ISIS to fear.

I’ve wrapped Christmas presents for my boys,
Too soon they’ll be men – no longer interested in toys.

All I want is to love them and for them to love me,
Together forever, or at least coming together under the tree.

  • I feel the same about Christmas as you! So over commercialised with many (my family included) only partaking in the festivities because society says we should! Still if I had to have a wish this Christmas it would be for a dream job to fall in my lap!! Haha..

    • Remind me again what exactly is your dream job?

  • I just want time for my own
More than you could ever know
    (Two, baby)
*insert your own Mariah Carey-style licks*

P.S. You are NOT getting me into a studio for this one. x

    • All I want for Christmas is… for one of your YouTubes to go viral.

  • Seriously , I want a Rose garden , to sit and sip a cold drop of fermented grapes on a balmy summer’s eve. We sold our Sydney home recently that had our memorial Rose garden for our baby girl who was stillborn.

    • Oh Trish that is heart breaking. I hope you get your rose garden. Thinking of you.

      • We are working on it , maybe after we get a Bore so we won’t have the worry about watering.

        • Wonderful news. Let me know when you are ready to start as I would love to contribute in some way.

  • All I want for Christmas … is someone else to do the dishes!

    • LOL that seems like a relatively easy wish to grant. If only I wasn’t on the other side of the country.

  • Jane B

All I want for Christmas is… to be with my family. As far as my wish list goes… I kind of like surprises.

    • I’m not a huge fan of surprises, especially when it comes to gifts. I suppose I’ve had a few bad surprises aka gifts over the years. Thanks for entering.

  • Paula Harris

All I want is a new steam mop….with a man attachment would be a bonus too hehe. Or a lawnmower because mine wouldn’t start yesterday and the front lawn looks likea jungle…also with a man attachment would be a bigger bonus
