We’ve had far too many hotter than hot days to even think about autumn but with the weather here in Perth looking and feeling more like winter the past few days, I’ve been eyeing off my wardrobe in a different light.
The handful of bargain buys I picked up out of season in the sales are now ready to make an appearance and I’m once again not really knowing where I should start when it comes to my overflowing chaotic wardrobe. I find myself dreaming of spring and a massive spring clean.
I also have my in-laws arriving from interstate any day now for an extended visit. It means my newly refurbished open plan home office will lose a certain charm with my visitors coming and going. There is also the extra entertaining and cleaning factor that chews into my working from home time when we have people staying.
It also means I may need to put my crazy idea of Casing the Coffice (cafe temporary office) back on the agenda as I look for
ways to escape interesting venues to catch up with clients and manage to get some work done.
Having my autumn wardrobe sorted and actually making an effort because I will be out and about more is going to be crucial. I won’t have time for those ‘I have nothing to wear try everything on and discard it on the floor’ moments.
The Perfect LBD Style 48 Autumn Style
My trusty LBD will be the perfect go-to dress for when I need to throw something on, add a few at hand accessories and be out of the house looking the part at short notice. It’s also the perfect weight and style for this season and lends well to layering which helps when the weather is so temperamental at the moment.
I headed to Target and started from the ground up with my accessories this week. Well if truth be told it’s how I like to style most of my outfits. That is from the ground up not necessarily at Target. My theory being, if you start with the heels the rest will just fall into place. For the most part, it works for me.
This week the heels are from the Dannii Minogue collection at Target. I’m not normally a fan of peep toe heels but thanks to Rachel from Redcliffe Style who may have blogged about my aversion (here), I’m slowly coming around.
The Dannii Minogue convertible bag is my home away from home office secret weapon. It pretty much fits everything I need to get the job done when I’m out and about and comes in taupe and black. Two colours that work well with my existing wardrobe.
The fact the bag converts from a stylish low handled number to a cross body bag and finally a backpack means it’s possibly the most practical and versatile bag in my wardrobe. At just $69, I’m close to calling it my favourite find of the week.
One Dress 52 Ways
For me, Bianca really has been The Perfect LBD for this style challenge and for my style in general, no matter what the occasion. An empire line dress from The Perfect LBD online boutique with full skirt, notched neckline and 3/4 sleeves.
This really is the perfect dress for my pear shaped body but would also suit oval, hourglass and column body shapes as well. The fabric is a fantastic wash and wear, which also does an amazing job at hiding a multitude of sins and having had three under three kids, I have more than a few
rolls sins to hide.
If you’ve been looking for a little black dress (LBD) to add to your wardrobe, it’s worth popping over and ‘casing’ The LBD online boutique. With so many LBDs on offer, I would start with their style your shape guide.
What’s your LBD style?
I would love, love, love it if one way or another you could play along this week. There are only a few weeks left and we have our last giveaway for this challenge kicking off soon.
You don’t need to be a fashion or style blogger. You don’t even need to be a blogger or know your way around a style board. You could just pop on your favourite little black dress and share a photo on Instagram. Just remember to tag me in if you are playing along on Instagram, so I can keep track and share your style.
You can also link up your photos, blog posts, Polyvore boards below or post directly to our Facebook page. If you can think of another way to share your LBD style, I would love to hear about it!
