My Summer Secret Weapon is Skindeep

Even though I didn’t over indulge or indulge at all over Christmas and New Years, I still feel like I need to start the year on the right foot so to speak as far as my beauty and wellness routine is concerned.  I’ve had a tough year health wise and only just starting slowly (think slower than snail pace) to get back on track, with a rather long way to go before I start looking and feeling like my old self.

To be expected, my skin is looking and feeling dehydrated. I’ve also been over complicating my skin care routine for far too long which has just made matters worse.  After a skin consultation with Helen from Skindeep Medi-Spa, I’m finally on the right track. My full to over flowing cupboard of beauty products has hit the dust bin as I concentrate on stream lining my beauty routine to get my skin looking the best it possibly can without all the fuss and product overload, as I head further into my 40s.

I’m not going to go into the specifics of what I’m currently using because what might work wonders for me might not be what’s best for you, but I would suggest you book a facial and take advantage of the Skindeep free skincare consultation at the same time.

What I can share with you is my top two secret weapons Skindeep treatments that are currently helping me to fast track my getting back on track endeavours as far as health and beauty go….

Starting with SLEEP and the Skindeep Medi-Spa energy/sleep pod!  I strongly believe everyone needs their beauty sleep. I also know my sleeping patterns especially when I pull an all night editing shift or three a week, doesn’t help. That’s where the sleep pod comes in.

I must admit, the first time round it was more like a meditating session as I struggled to switch my brain off and over analysed the entire process but just 15-20 minutes in the sleep pod has me looking and feeling less like a zombie and the flow on effect can only mean good things for my long term health.

I particularly find the sleep pod beneficial when I’m going from a week of night shifts back to my day job. After finishing editing at 4am (on the last shift) rather than hit the pillow at 8 am I remain awake with just the sleep pod session late that afternoon and I find it is more than enough to keep me going with renewed energy till a reasonable hour that evening, putting my sleep pattern back on track in just the one day. Usually I can be out of whack sleep wise for up to a week.

My other not so secret weapon is the Skindeep Infra Red Detox Booth. While it is recommended and beneficial for use with most illnesses and medications, having had a three week course of steroids in my system, I did initially have to wait for three weeks off the meds before I could begin sessions.  My first session included Mr C (blogged here) and I must admit I struggled slightly with the heat and sweating the equivalent of a 10 km run but the benefits to my health have me going back for more on a weekly basis.

When I joined up as a Skindeep Diamond Club member, I received four detox booth sessions (as well as discounts, products and vouchers) but with sessions starting at just $35 this is definitely ‘worth casing’ if you are in need of a quick and easy way to kick start your detox.

Skindeep Medi-Spa have a detox booth promotion via their facebook page at the moment where you can take a friend for just $20 each. It’s quite possibly the best $20/$35 I’ve ever spent on myself.

I’m looking forward to having a few friends join me in the hot seat over the coming weeks.
